Need ideas what do with the grandkids? Wanna be a COOL GRANDMA? I'm sharing my TOP 10 favorite things of mine and my grandkids which helped me earn the name "C.G." for "COOL GRANDMA!" In my "golden years" of 60+ years old, retired and widowed, I've discovered that life is NOT OVER! In fact, depending on how you choose to look at it. I've been living life all my life and NOW, I am living my BEST LIFE. My bones may be old, but as long as I have imagination and a little bit of energy, the sky is the limit!

My grandkids can tell you that I'm a storyteller at heart. I charge them a quarter for a story, just to check if they really want to hear it. Racked up a lotta quarters for my next Vegas trip with the girls and my new DSLR camera!

Part of living my best life is to GO BACK TO COLLEGE as a college dropout "drop-in" and chose the field of CREATIVE MEDIA to find new adventures. Loving every moment and lessons I'm learning. This video was the first one I ever made in the CM320D Creative Media Course as you can see but got the A! All video footage was shot on my trusty iPhone X. I'm saving up for a real DSLR camera, keep them quarters coming kids! I'm still a beginner using Premiere Pro for post production, but baby steps, working to improve each day and having tons of fun.

Thanks for hanging out with us. Take care you.

Grandmas don't stop working when their children are grown up and have families of their own. Especially in Hawai'i with the highest cost of living in the nation, working families with children need help and tutus come to the rescue. They pick up the children from school and watch the babies while the parents go to work when babysitters are not affordable. Grandmas take care of the family in any way they can to help afford life in paradise.

My friend I call my sister and I was gifted a vacation from the family and we took it! We sang Tiny Bubbles with the gondola man and walked the strip. We tested out the hotels on the strip and downtown and learned it's funner on the strip but easier to win downtown. I took my trusty iPhone to document the fun and turned it into a video so when people back home asked "How was it?" we can just say "click the link and watch!" (Thank you professors!) But of course, some things that happen in Vegas, must stay in Vegas.

In pre-Covid days, taking the grandkids out after Sunday church for an "adventure" was automatic. We live just 5 minutes from the church and the beach and I had my first creative media course project to get done, to make a music video. I killed two birds with one stone, take the grandkids on an adventure and get the homework done.

I had my iPhone XR, the "free" talent and a beautiful natural backdrop. We planned what we were going to do on the way to the beach. I picked the song. The rest of it was thrown together as the sun crossed the sky. That moment in time will be forever documented in 4K resolution for us and the great-grandkids and I got an "A" as the result of fun "Sunday" adventure! After this music video, grandkids started calling me C.G. for Cool Grandma. Not bragging, but sorta kinda.

My point? Grandmas with cellphones, any kind of device that records can be Cool Grandma too with a classic song and some imagination. Baking cookies is okay too but making a music video is over the top cool! Jus' Sayin'! Enjoy!

The music is by my favorite, Roy Orbison. Oldie but goodie.
