Setting Up for Learning Success - Learn at Home for Free

Today's digital times offer a mountain of advantages and tools for online learning for free. What does the cost is the time spent learning? From personal experience, I recommend avoiding putting off learning until you have free time. The odds are against you finding enough free time necessary to learn how to take care of the business of money effectively--there's so much of it to learn. Life and living keep us busy: multiple jobs, carpooling the kids, running the kids to soccer practice, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning the house, tending to the yard, on and on. I know! Reading, listening, or watching a video online to learn takes away time from the important to-dos on the list. So why not include the learning while you do those things, a little multi-tasking lifestyle change.

Take the Bite Out of the Busy to Keep Learning

A Lifestyle Learning Hack for Next-Generation Future Domination

Learning on-the-go with lessons in my ear hack helped me, especially with my school work during a pandemic. Online school was challenging. Too often, the lessons were missing a thing or two so I resorted to YouTube to fill in the blanks. My best tip for time crunching: multi-task by doing what you do but add earplugs to your device connected to the lessons and take it where you go. Long rides in the car are perfect. I'm in the garden a lot so I can cut through hours of learning in a day's gardening and it also makes the work more "funner" ya know! If the next-generation adopts and uses this learning "hack," perhaps they can learn more about money and dominate the future generation. It could happen if parents and grandmas help them transition and adopt this simple lifestyle change. Stick Ir In Your Ear!

Moving forward and doing the research is too important to let time get in the way. For those who are not book readers (like me) or don't have time to sit and read (like me), why not "listen" and learn with audio files either in audio books, podcasts, or YouTube. There are many choices online available for free. Ask google to help you find "free" ones for you. The nice thing about this is that if a audio section goes over your head or difficult to understand, you can rewind as many times as needed.

Stick It In Your Ear Learning Steps

  1. Pick a topic to learn. Find the best source online to use (audio book, YouTube video or playlist)

  2. Stick the microphone or air pods in your ear, click to play

  3. Listen while you work.

  4. Repeat

For YouTube listening, If you have a gmail account, you already have a YouTube account for free. I did upgrade my YouTube subscription to pay the monthly fee to avoid ads interrupting my view. As a college student in creative media, I was constantly watching YouTube videos so the upgrade was worth the time it saved for me.

Here's YouTube's tutorial on how to set it up.

I can almost guarantee that somebody is talking about something you might want to know online. But just because the mentors are talking about it doesn't make it the right way. Here's where investing time to do the research comes in. To find it, you need to ask the question or use relevant keywords in the search box. It's up to you to take what you need from it and leave what you can't on the table to look for more content until the research is accurate and credible.

YouTube lets you create a playlist of your favorite videos watched or to watch later if you have a YouTube account. Many are annoyed by the ads but don't be an ad hater just yet. The ads may someday provide passive income and money while you sleep if you invest time to learn. I have a strong hunch that the difference between those who try and fail and try and succeed is time invested in learning how to do it right. YouTube ads are just one of the many side hustles that offer financial freedom through passive income, money flowing in automatic. I will explain more about side hustles in the next part of this series.

Audiobooks are a great on-the-go content. Audible has a convenience best-seller's list for finance audiobooks.

I'm not a book reader, but I listened to six of the nine books on the list and am grateful for the learning. I found two of the book in audio format for free on YouTube. I found that YouTube is the next best source to search for answers to problems and "how-to's." The first best source of information online is of course good old Goog

FREE Complete Audiobooks - Life-changing Tools

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich is another "must-read" available in audiobook on Audible but all 10 hours 47 minutes and 15 seconds are free to enjoy on YouTube courtesy of Good Practices Channel.  As a non-book reader, I'm surprised and happy I got through the entire book "listening" in 3 days working in the garden.

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

I was elated to see that Rich Dad's Retire Young Retire Rich Audiobook was free to use on several YouTube channels. It's in the form of a video but the audio narration allows the listening of 4 hours 2 minutes and 24 seconds on a digital device on-the-go!

I'm sure there are other audio books for free on YouTube like this book.

Get comfy and dig in.

It is definitely a life-changing experience.

2. If you lack digital skills, not a problem! Digital skills or a college degree is not required to have a digital business: Tasks can be out-sourced at a reasonable cost.Having digital skills is good but NOT a must-have. There's a workaround called fiverr.com and upwork.com. The two platforms are free to peruse after creating a free account. Consider the sites as one-stop shops to find services of all sorts. If you can think of it, there's sure to be someone with the skills you need who will work for cheap, sometimes starting as little as five dollars plus a tip! Prices for services go according to the skill level and work involved.

Video Game Invention

Not all jobs go for five dollars. It depends on how experienced the worker is or the job's difficulty. The low cost is possible because many of the workers live in third world countries. Our dollar is worth much more there so we get more for our buck. There's the price advantage as well as the of unknown factor of who you hire as an independent contractor.  Fiverr and Upwork are also viable part-time or full-time job sources for those with skills in digital technology, writing, legal services, music, etc. Want a customized prayer made for you? They got someone to do it. Want a psychic reading? They got it. Got any skills? Information about contracting your skills are available on the sites. Take a tour on Fiverr.com to see all the crazy interesting useful talent choices available.

Old Asian Man

3. Be wary, for as with anything, "you get what you pay for." Check reviews online and shop wisely on the platform. Do the homework on it. Compare the reviews of any worker before hiring them. When you understand how it works and know how to do it right, these platforms can help you jump hurdles. Investing time in learning makes the impossible a possibility.

It's time to meet the awesome men in my life.

the four men in my life.png
four men 2Abbie
00:00 / 07:28

I provide my personal review and impressions as a new learner from watching numerous videos and articles produced by these four men. I'm anxious to hear of impressions formed by others.

Please share. Send me a message anytime.

Common Factors: They all share their tips online with intentions to give back and help others succeed. Their bank balances are private but I trust they are genuinely successful and walk the talk. They are good examples how success comes from helping others solve problems. The public comments from viewers document how they help. In turn, they earn income from their services or products from those who want to go deeper beyond the free services they offer to all as options. They teach what they know, finance and money.

My Overall Review of 'em all: If I'm feeling doubtful and low, I'd hop on Carmichael's channel to pick myself up again. If I wanted to go big and take on the world, I'd camp out on Kiyosaki's channel. Singh at Minority Mindset keeps me grounded, like a good friend I can trust and walks me through the learning at my speed (slow) and easy.

My best takeaway from them all: I know I can succeed in making money because the steps are clear thanks to these men and the rest of the mentors talking online. I am aware of the safety precautions and know what land mines to step around. I have a good idea where to start (in my own situation) hoping that's the right one but not scared to fail because these men failed too but showed me what NOT to do. In our crazy economy and world, for the sake of the grandkids and the next generation, I need to grab the brass ring with all the power and energy in my bones because my grandkids are watching. I aim to show them if grandma can do it, they can too.

I advocate to always be learning, even when time is limited, stick in in your ear and take the learning on -the-go with you. We are too busy to put the learning on hold until we have the time because chances are, the learning will be on hold for GENERATIONS and complacency will set in for a very long time. This grandma knows. Been there. Done that. Jus' Sayin' you know?

Personal Review:

I imagine he is a great dad who knows how to teach the right and wrongs of good finance management. Don't use credit, don't use credit card, don't use credit cards. Did I say he hates credit already? Got it! It's a good lesson and montra to live by-if you don't have the cash, don't buy it!  But sometimes using credit is good, according to Robert Kiyosaki who amassed his real estate empire by NOT USING HIS OWN MONEY. Two different idealogies for different reasons. If looking at the histories of the two, there is obvious reason for the clash. Read their books, or listen to their audiobooks free on YouTube.

Many callers on his radio show have big money problems. Watching Dave help solve the problem live on the show is an emotional experience, sometimes with sad endings and others happy. Quite entertaining. However, Ramsey's outlook of money is too conventional that don't work in today's economy as far as real estate investing like Kiyosaki and Singh.

If I took up real estate rentals for passive income, I'd be studying Kiyosaki and Singh's model, but that's my opinion.  OUT OF ALL THESE MEN,

Dave Ramsey is the only certified financial counselor.
